I know this is the second time I am visiting this subject, but here it is:
I am T-Minus 10 days until I am no longer “just 40”. I will then be a woman “in her forties”! UGH! I am still not sure why this bothers me. How am I going to deal with this “getting old fear”? Worrying that I will run out of time before I become GREAT? Thinking “Is this REALLY how a ‘woman in her forties’ should act?” Wondering, “Did I wait to late to reach for this or that particular goal?”
Well…I have decided to remove all negatives from my vocabulary. The word “CAN’T” does not even EXIST! I may try and fall short of success, but there is no failure in doing MY BEST! I will be the healthiest, fittest, focused, most goal-oriented, hard working, and determined 41 year-old former “fat-chick” you will ever find! I will demand Excellence of myself!
I saw a Tweet from female MMA fighter, Rhonda Rowsey, yesterday where she mention how as you get older, you need to drive faster because you have less time to get where you are going. HHMMMM!!! OK…so in the vehicle of life, it is time to put the “pedal to the metal” so to speak. I have a LOT to accomplish in this life. I may have taken the slow boat to “Motivated” by way of “Rock Bottom”, but I am here now!
As Mr Jackson of http://www.rulershipnow.com says……
It will take a lot of hard work and determination, but I WILL continue to reach for my goal and beyond!

I am a couple of years ahead of you in age and several steps behind you in fitness, but as long as we are still headed in the right direction and committed to the daily process, then we are on the right track.
Think of it this way, what you have accomplished has already not only added years and value to your life, but has helped someone else add years and value to their lives by following your example.
That is a great accomplishment at any age!
Thank you, Tina! Your words gave me a very heart-warming feeling. One of my goals is to pay forward the encouragement I got from others in hopes to spread the gift of loving oneself enough to take great care of oneself and fight for a better life. I am honored that you look at me this way and that I have helped you add years and value to your life. By saying so, you have in turn encouraged me to keep going to achieve all of my goals:)
I have the “I’m getting old” battle in my head going constantly! you are so right – chase the negative thoughts OUT and focus on the positives! LOOK AT ALL YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED! I tell ya I look at your before pics and the NOW YOU – INCREDIBLE! YOU DID THAT! AWESOME. and iNCREDIBLY inspiring!
I am a LOT older than you (well, I am) but I am not giving up on the “I CAN DO THIS” whole idea. and YOU are my motivator!
