Winter is OVER!
At least that is what the calendar says. For many of us, including me here in the Midwest, it is still COLD! We have at least another week of below normal temps to deal with, but it is time to start thinking SUMMER BODY!!! If you are like me, that pretty much means shorts and tanks every second I am not at work! But for some of you, it also means swimsuits, and maybe even….dare I say it…bikinis!!!
Well, I have been struggling with some food sensitivity issues lately, and not being able to figure out WHAT is causing them. I have periodically given up EVERYTHING, and though I still think it is partially gluten, I think, and I say this with tears in my eyes, I think dairy is next on the list:( If you know me, you know that I LOVE Greek Yogurt and FF or LF Cheese on EVERYTHING! So this is NOT going to be easy.
So, the experiment begins. Starting tomorrow(yes, I am eating cheese RIGHT NOW!), NO dairy for 21 days! This could be worse than when I quit smoking! I am SERIOUS!
BUT…I am STAYING POSITIVE!!! And I will try focusing more on my Half-marathon training to keep my mind off of it! LOL!
Between the weather, and it being the time of year when people have fallen from their New Year’s Resolutions and are feeling generally negative, NOW is the time to JUMP START some feel good endorphins by getting moving! There are local races popping up EVERYWHERE! Sign up for one! Or just ask a friend to start walking your neighborhood with you. Or if you are in the Midwest, and the weather is still not exactly what you wish it was, do a DVD! It doesn’t matter HOW you move, just that you DO MOVE!!!
And…don’t forget nutrition! I LOVE this time of year, because things start to grow. Local produce will be popping up soon in the grocery stores and farmers’ markets! AAAHHHHHHH!!! If you are eating clean and healthy, you will see results in the way you feel and the way you look!
Time to eat lunch, so I am going to leave it at that for now. Wish me luck on the whole NO DAIRY thing. I am actually worried about this one. I know it will be hard, but if I feel and look better after only 21 days, I will have to accept that this is the way it has to be.
I have a lot more going on over on Facebook, so if you get the chance check me out at http://www.facebook.com/bodybybrenda1
