Are your excuses KILLING you?

Are you letting the BS story in your head keep you not only from your goals, but from really living?

I don’t have time!
I am busy!
I am sore!
I need motivation!
I am too old!
I am too out of shape! – MY PERSONAL FAVORITE!!!!

As a Beachbody Coach, Zumba Instructor, and NASM Certified Personal Trainer, these are all excuses that I hear all the time! I have even heard a few of them in my own head from time to time.

But you must at these times, REMEMBER YOUR WHY!!!

WHY do you want to get healthy?
WHY do you want to lose weight?
WHY do you want to be fit?

Are you sick?
Are you sick of being the one that holds your family back from doing things?
Are you sick of being too tired to do anything?
Are you sick of all the medications that you have to take just to get by and stay alive?
Are you sick of watching others do things and have fun, while you sit on the sidelines?
Are you sick and tired of HURTING ALL THE TIME?
Are you sick of being constantly uncomfortable?
Are you sick of worrying about who will take care of your children, or even your pets in my case, if you keep going like this and die?

EVERYTHING above is part of MY WHY!

I was the Queen of Excuses and building a life of monumental nothingness! I watched TV like it was a second job, I smoked like a chimney, and drank like a fish! Add on to that all the unhealthy, fat laden foods that I used to feed myself and my husband, and we were simply living in a fashion that we were just waiting to die!

But the time came to get serious living or get serious dying!

It was time to give up the excuses!

Did that mean I was suddenly strong and fit?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

It meant that I had finally seen that there was a better way to deal with my pain and disability than rolling over and accepting it as if I had NO control over anything in my life.

I still have back pain.
I still have arthritis.
I still battle addiction EVERY DAY!
I still deal with depression.

But every day I show up and FIGHT for the results I want! Some days I win. Some days I lose. But EVERY DAY is a chance for me to make my life better, and I for one choose to take it!

Excuses are tools

This is me near my heaviest and most unhealthy, about 280#. I was at a family bridal shower, and could not wait to get it over with so I could get back home to my couch, cigarettes, and case of beer! I used every excuse I could think of, especially my disability due to my spinal fusion, to get me out of doing just about anything!
