Warm Embrace

The turn of a wheel

The torch comes to life

The heat can be felt instantly

As it feeds on the oxygen

You watch it eat

A blade appears

You’re not sure how it got there

But you know what to do

You cut the flame

over and over

It warms the cold, cold steel

the light goes out

just the red hot blade remains

Where should it go

It can not be seen

the burn will satisfy the hunger for now

The pain later

Will the desire to feast ever deminsh

The steel has gone cold and gray

It is still hungry

scarlet wraps around it tight

the beautiful touch of a warm embrace
