Let’s Talk Health Insurance

I’m not going super deep into it, because we are actually still going through it.

After a sudden brain bleed, I have Prayer Warriors everywhere around the world fighting for my husband’s life.

I was dreading calling the insurance. As you can imagine. But I had to know where we stood. I’m good with numbers. Numbers make sense. The emotions running through my head do not. So I tried to focus on a few numbers. Turns out I got so much more than the deductible help I was looking for.

My employer offers amazing benefits. But I have never had to call the company itself. When I did today, an emotional me got Shelly. Shelly helped me, and TALKED to me. She was empathetic and kind.

Then you know what happened? She went and told her supervisor about our situation. And Cathy called me just to check on me and let me know she is also available to talk with if I have any questions or need help with anything!

So, if you have to call your insurance during a difficult time, remember that if you go in reasonable and real, you will get the answers you are looking for. Isn’t always the one you want, but remember that they are doing their job with the information they have.

And if you are as lucky as I am to have wonderful understanding and empathic people in your corner…Be Certain to Let Them Know just HOW MUCH you appreciate them.
